How to get to the Bump Bash

 

  

By car: from Zurich to Bern, Thun, Kandersteg; then by car-train to Goppenstein, the over Gampel, Visp to Täsch, where you park your car and take the train or the taxi to Zermatt.
And now you can put on your skis and off you go …

Registration in advance is neither possible nor necessary, because there is enough space for everyone (accommodation and start field).

Only for the Bump Bash Classic do you need to sign in and get a start number. This is done before the race in the finish area.
Thanks to the Zermatt mountain transport system, who support the Bump Bash generously (transport, slope, ski passes, side events) meaning we do not need to charge an entrance fee for the event(s).

For people with a small budget, or for those who look for the ultimate Bump Bash adventure, there is the possibility to stay in the renowned Bom Shelter (Zermatt’s civil protection place from the cold war days – dormitory style). There is always a place (somehow)! Who comes earlier has a better choice of bunk. Good atmosphere guaranteed!


Note: Easter in Zermatt is usually completely booked out! Book your accommodation in hotels or apartments as early as possible.

Bomb Shelter

 

  

The bomb shelter (civil protection place) is in the floor below the “Triftbach”-gym.
Turn off at the church to your left, towards the river. Shortly after the church you cross the Triftbach (the “Trift brook”). Follow the road along this little river. The Triftbach-gym and the entrance to the bomb shelter are opposite the little chapel of the cemetery.
